RODE Wireless GO

I use these in the studio and in the field. Just so impressed with what I can achieve. The USB rechargeable battery seems to go half the day. I use the inbuilt mic a lot. So convenient.

RODE Interview GO

The simplicity makes this work. The RODE Wireless GO microphone simply slides onto the handle. Pop on the foam wind baffle and now you can have many people in the shot and interview them or pass the microphone around. Simple. Convenient. fast. I LOVE this.

RODE SmartLav

This well-made microphone is designed to plug into a smartphone. (NOTE: most microphones will not work on a smartphone without an adaptor). It also plugs directly into the Wireless GO. (sometimes the square shape of the Wireless GO won't sit nicely on your clothes. Using this SmartLav will let you have a less distracting look if needed). I have made thousands!! of videos with this microphone.

RODE MagClip GO

A tailor-made magnetic clip that attaches beautifully to your RODE Wireless GO. Now you can easily attach the microphone to problematic clothes like T-Shirts and blouses. Seriously, this is such a time saver.

RODE SC7

The plug supplied with the Wireless GO will not plug directly to a smartphone. You will need this adaptor.

RODE SC3

The SmartLav mic is designed to plug into a smartphone. Should you want to use the SmartLav on other cameras or audio recorders you will need this adaptor.

Filmic Pro

This iOS and Android app lets me manually control my smartphone with the precision of a high-end expensive DSLR camera BUT that's not what I use it for. I use it to see that I am correctly recording pictures and sound and that gives me peace of mind I'm not going to have costly retakes.

Filmic Remote

I use the Filmic Remote app on my second phone. I can remotely control my main smartphone (camera) without having to be standing behind the camera. This way I can easily operate the camera and present at the same time. I can stop/start my recordings and control all the settings without moving an inch. This iOS and Android app is a real time saver.

Filmic DoubleTake

This great app lets you select any two of the cameras you have on your smartphone and record them at the same time in high quality.  Super useful.

Dedicated Smartphone for Video

I have multiple dedicated smartphones just for video. I go for older models (cheaper) with 256 GB of memory. I have 2 x iPhone 7

CapCut

Hands down the best FREE video editing software I use. Prepared to be blown away by what you can do.

Camtasia

Ecamm

If you wondered how I got the look I did in my LIVE training session, I use Ecamm. It adds a studio look to your presentations AND it also is a brilliant way to create recorded video content. This saves me so much editing time. I can't imagine being without this. It's that good. Mac only.

SSD Drive

An SSD Drive is a Solid State Drive. It has no moving parts and makes editing so much faster. They cost more but are a worthy investment if you are planning to edit your own videos. This will save you time.
