Funny huh! - Insights From a Motivational Speaker
Don't try to be funny. This is a minefield in the business setting. Why? Because al humour is subjective.
But can you add humour.
You can be light-hearted about awkward things that happened to you.
or
You can poke fun at your profession if it is an industry event
or
You can search for funny apocryphal stories that will illustrate your point.
Some will have cultural references that you can simply remove. They will work equally as well.
It has taken me over a decade of reworking and massaging my funny stories and jokes to the point that I feel telling them in front of 95% of audiences.
Just because you think it's funny and cute does make it so.
