Grow Wings at Any Age (Even at 64) - Insights From a Motivational Speaker

Growing Wings At 64

God, let it be daylight. I grabbed the clock. 00:44. Farghhhh. My mind was racing, my limbs restless, my insides churning.

I’m growing wings again!

It’s been a while, but I know the feeling. I reach a point of clarity in my thinking and I can’t hold it back—like the monster in ALIEN wanting to burst out of me.

This is how I knew it was time to start this writing.

Welcome to ChangeAbility.

Embracing change could be the smartest move of your career.

Resistance to change isn’t just a personal quirk—it’s a professional liability. People resist change to preserve stability, but ironically, they risk job security, relevance, and control. Embracing change doesn’t mean sucking up or selling out. It’s career insurance. It’s how people stay visible, valuable, and connected in a world that won’t stop evolving.

And I’ve got a lot to say about embracing change:

  • average shot to army sniper

  • home movies to National Geographic cameraman

  • fumbling card tricks to professional magician

  • never swung a hammer to built a home

  • high school dropout to published author

  • business rookie to sold a business

  • stutterer to motivational speaker

Turns out, I know how to change. I know how to make it simple. And I know how to inspire others to do it too.

But is this for you? Or your team? Your kids? Your dad maybe?

Legendary writer AJ Harper says: “A book is not about something—a book is for someone.”

So if you’re someone who wants to do things you never thought you would do—and you want simple, no BS, real-world, road-tested processes to get there—and you like nutritious thoughts sweetened with frivolity and rebellion, then my writing might just be for you.

I’ll write weekly (more or less). There’ll be a podcast and videos. I won’t publish anything I wouldn’t want to read myself.

I’m still growing. I’d love to have you alongside me, growing too.

You don’t have to love change.
You just have to lean into it faster than the person next to you.

Wings out. Let’s fly.
